I have been running slimserver with softsqueeze for a couple of weeks without issue. Last night, softsqueeze kept stopping , losing connection to slimserver. Slimserver kept stopping shortly after it started. I uninstalled and reinstalled slimserver. Now slimserver tries to start and will not get

Stinkingpig, I am running Windows XP Sevice pack2.I went to the command prompt as recommended and tried to start the server. The following error message was returned: 2006-12-03 20:18:38.4687 can't setup the listening port 9000 for the HTTP server: Unknown error at /PerlApp/Slim/Web/HTTP.pm

Possible clash of app on port 9000. To confirm try adding the option --httpport 9080 on the command line to use port 9080 when starting from command prompt. -- bpa bpa's Profile:

I changed the command to slim.exe--httpport 9080 This was not a recognizeable command. I tried slim.exe httpport 9080 and this yielded the same error code as before. I do not think I am entering the command properly. How should it be entered? Thanks -- Inniswhe

It looks like it got further as there is a port clash perhaps with WMP 11. To get more info about the problem, running slim from the command line add the following options and then copy the output into a file, zip it and attach to a post slim.exe --d_plugins --d_startup --d_server --httpport
