Stinkingpig,
I am running Windows XP Sevice pack2.I went to the command prompt as
recommended and tried to start the server. The following error message
was returned:
2006-12-03 20:18:38.4687 can't setup the listening port 9000 for the
HTTP server: Unknown error at /PerlApp/Slim/Web/HTTP.pm
Possible clash of app on port 9000.
To confirm try adding the option --httpport 9080 on the command line
to use port 9080 when starting from command prompt.

I changed the command to slim.exe--httpport 9080
This was not a recognizeable command.
I tried slim.exe httpport 9080 and this yielded the same error code
as before.
I do not think I am entering the command properly. How should it be
entered?
Thanks

It looks like it got further as there is a port clash perhaps with WMP

To get more info about the problem, running slim from the command line
add the following options and then copy the output into a file, zip it
and attach to a post
slim.exe --d_plugins --d_startup --d_server --httpport
Thanks bpa for your help thus far, since I am lost when it comes to this
stuff. Let me know if I am wasting your time with this but I need a
little help to get the info you request. I entered the command you
asked for and got a pile of data.
I do not know how to copy the output to a file ?
I

C:\Program Files\SlimServer\serverslim.exe --d_plugins --d_startup
--d_server --httpport 9080
you missed the space between httpport and 9080.
