Well, I suppose the number of files is irrelevant once you get over a
few hundred - you'd have to have it automated or you wouldn't do it!
Depending on what the specifics of the problem are, it may be that you
could do a batch change of tags from one version to another. However I
can understand
Unfortunately the only choice is to stick with the old version. I have
around 63000 files so tagging again is not an option and for the same
reason I think I would not have enough space for FLAC (and the thought
of re-ripping my music collection is not one I relish. Also MP3 still

I am running Windows 2003 server fully patched but without R2. I have
experienced some of the issues on this forum but primarily the ones
around the whole tagging problem.
I know that many people say you have to go through with a certain
tagging program and put them all onto a certain format v4
Maybe it's just me, but I would find it super-helpful if people who
mention what OS they're using when discussing problems. I'm positive
(after 3 weeks of intense forum reading) that many more issues exist
with Slimserver running under Windows that under Linux and Mac OS.
I've been running it fo
alot of problems with NPR streams (KCRW+WUSF2) here. The audio starts
to skip after 30 minutes or so. No problems when I went back down to
6.3.1.

Wake me up when world peace arrives, or slimserver software gets the

Sorry ..did not make it clear on post above.
I am trying to get the slimserver to play the tracks, and end of each

I am having problems with my music files since I upgraded to 6.5.

Its clear you are frustrated. You do need to keep in mind that most of

Don't know if SS7 is better, but it's definitely beta.
If you want a stable release and don't want to test, then it's probably
not right for you.

The saga continues.
I have now taken off all of 6.5.1 (or so I thought). Uninstalled from
Windows and deleted the directory (I assume just the one in Program
Files).
Put 6.3.1 back on and same problem half the albums are under MP3's or

I am afraid I have just downloaded 6.3.1 to reinstall. Having checked

Have you logged a bug?
This will not get fixed unless someone can reproduce it with a specific
offending file.

For me, 6.5.0 was working without the harsh sound, but 6.5.1 is not
working
For anyone on this thread who had issues with 6.5 and tried a 6.5.1
nightly last week
The 6.5.1 nightly Windows build croaked from about Tues-Wed to last
night.
So if you tried 6.5.1 and it didn't fix your issue, try it again.
As for the weird noise mentioned, if been using 6.5 since about

I am currently running the official 6.5.0 and am frequently seeing all
of my albums and artists being found after a full rescan, but 0 songs.
e.g.
814 Albums with 0 Songs by 3184 Artists. Is this a known bug, and if
so, has it been resolved in 6.5.1?
Thanks,
