Exactly as others have posted, you sound like you have a NAS on 24/7 so
there really is no need to use mysb.com ?
mysb.com was really only for those who wanted to listen to music

Indeed, it is completely unnecessary, don't switch to MySB.com.
All of your MySB Favorites and all Apps are accessible from SBS on your
NAS.

Why don't you listen to internet radio from your local server? That way
you won't have to change to mysb.com and reload the firmware. Ever
looked at the internet radio on your local server?

Thanks for detailing which files do what. Can you also detail how to

Are those all _player_ preferences? If so, it's worth mentioning.
Does a player have to be actively connected to an SbS server for the
settings to sync, or will the settings of any player in the SbS prefs
file be synced?

Can it be so that if have an old account done with pin numbers and such

then it syncs !

I count myself as a pretty IT literate guy and I'd still like an option
for Squeezebox Server to be able to export it's settings. I can't
imagine all the guys running NAS solutions etc wanting to start learning

Maybe the question should be asked a different way:
Does Logitech think it acceptable that connecting a new device (a radio
in this case) should cause all other devices to lose their settings,
with no way of restoring them either through the Squeezebox interface or
through the Slimserver (or what

If otherwise you want a discussion by quoting half sentences out of
context - yes.
Perhaps someone wants to write a how-to bring a new Radio to an existing
Squeeze installation, here as a thread in the forum and/or as a wiki
page.
That will help other buyers, allow to see the opinion on the subject,
and can incite Logi doing changes.
I've personally written the user manual that
The uses of a product like Squeezebox should not be expected to dig deep
into the operating system files to make a backup of preferences.
Many programmes have menu options to export and import prefs.
Let's have it for Squeeze products.
