My guess is that during upgrade, you didn't run "mvn clean" and thus
you have both the new and old pdfbox library installed. You can check
in [dspace]/lib/ and all the WEB-INF/lib/ directories.
The solution would be to run mvn clean before mvn package and rebuild DSpace.

Here's where you should specify the database name.

If you don't want to register and pay for a handle prefix, you don't have
to use the handle server ([dspace]/hadle-server/). In such case, there's no
need to configure anything and your URLs will look like this:
http://example.com/handle/123456789/[postfix].

despite two forms being offered. Try opening up the ldap form and
using your DSpace login/password or vice versa.
