Note - two characters, '/' for primary symbol table followed by one character,
or '\' for alternate symbol table followed by one character.
E.g., '/-' for home (vhf) or '\-' for home (hf).

Is there a list somewhere that tells what the OTHER symbols are?

Have a look
This was the most helpful reply received. Starting digging into
GPS-A...figured out that if I have my "symbol" in the radio set to
"Other" -- "Other" becomes nothing and you miss a character.
So, set your "symbol" to anything OTHER than "Other" and it will be
fine. "I can hear me now". :-)
Go to http://www.aprs-is.net/dprs.aspx for information on the D-PRS translation
and how to configure your radio.
As far as GPS-A vs. GPS modes, the D-STAR radios are not designed as
interactive tracking radios. Some radios will show a transmitting station's
position information if the transmit

Check out http://www.aprs-is.net/dprs.aspx for information on how to configure
your radio
I sure encourage you to set GPS AUTO TX to OFF so the radio only sends GPS
data when you talk. This is especially true with your transmissions going to a
reflector. Not many folks want to be shot gunned with a non voice PTT every so
many minutes. (Once the new wears off). Thanks and vy 73, s
that I
had something misconfigured.
Still learning here.

I just turned on my GPS emulator here at Gatesville, and after plugging
in the Com cable, my position reported both thru the K5CTX B and W5ZDN C
gateways - at this point I would double check settings on the ID800. Steve

The Delorme EarthMate USB is capable of outputting NMEA format. There
is a way to change the format inside the Street Atlas, if I remember

other software that required NMEA.
While this site does not tell how to do it, it does sh
