Read the following document, which might help. There is a spur generated
on 80 meters in some KPA100's caused by a resonance in the TR switch
components. Easily fixed with a 1K resistor soldered across one of the
inductors. Won't help 40 meters though.

I've been downloading some free apps for my Palm 105 from the link
below. I've downloaded a nice star chart app, solitaire game and more.
Now all I have to do is get faster at inputting the calls into my K2 and
G4FON Logger programs.
I'll answer this since the experts don't seem to be available at the moment.
1. Yes, you should be able to receive signals on the 40-meter band.
2. You should have full headphone volume now.

Not a dumb question at all. At this point you should have all the receiver
you ever will get on 40 meters, and you should be hearing 40 meter signals
loud and clear with the AF gain set at about the 9 o'clock position. If
that is not true, either the band is dead, you have a poor antenna, or

The net has been run 162 times on 20 and 40 meters.
Only five Sundays have not had a net due to contesting since June 7th,
2003. I missed one net because I forgot I changed the time :( This one
was run by another operator whose only QNI occurred that day.
