George, I don't have a manual or a schematic, but I would think that is a regulated supply - if so, changing the transformer taps will only change the bulk voltage but should not change the output. There may (or may not) be a pot in the regulator circuit that would change the output voltage. 73,

Ken, What happens if you plug a hand key into the KX1? or paddles with the KX1 set to Hand? If it keys properly, then your problem is in the cable or in the microHam Keyer. I guess there is also the possibility that you are getting RF feedback which locks the combination into transmit - try test

My K2 S/N 5163 goes in to current limit at about 7 watts or so on 40M. I set the limit to 3.5A, so something is not right. The voltage drops about 1V from 13.5 to 12.5 as well using the K2 meter.
