It could be the problem I and some others had, where
there was a bit too much gain through the transmit
chain when the KPA-100 is installed for the ALC to
maintain control (in my case it was worst on 80m).
Here is a link to my "problem solved" post, which also

Hello all,
Look for John, NU3E, and myself, WA3WSJ, operating from Eagles Nest
Shelter on the AT this weekend. We will hike in the 5.5 miles and setup
camp at the shelter. We'll be looking to make Qs from the AT in PA. Look
for us on 20m,30m and 40m. John may also work additional bands.

Another source of information is your dentist. Mine gave me some
references for purchasing glasses and/or clipons that had a longer
working distance than the 8" typical of the Optivisors. (Seems folks
don't like the dentist 8" from their face during exams.)

Most mag lights are only 3 diopter (1.75 power).
The 5 diopter (2.25X) lights help when you need more magnification.
Here is a source for a rectangular lens version.

Hi all,
I am one of those dentists. I have my surgical lens from Orascoptic
Research. A google search should give you a few other venders. These are
great and most surgeons use them. My endodontic brothers/sisters are
currently using operating microscopes for extremely fine work.

I bought a Chinese iimport pair with plastic at the flea market for $3.
They work for me.
I use a free Luxo clone circular lamp/lens for the big stuff.

I'll will spend a few hours on the local trails with my /PM setup which

Or you can build one :O)
I built this little gadget about a year ago. I use it for close work.
I modified a pair of $10 binoculars.
I can either use it with head gear or on a stand. It has 8X
magnifications making objects large and crystal clear.
I mainly use this for SMD devices but could b

Much obliged. I tried the mod you addressed and that has settled
it down. Just a slight overshoot when set at 100W. More
when running lower (25W), but not as bad and I don't really care
since the KPA-100 has plenty
of headroom down there. I used the 1K and 3.3K values on the KSB

I prefer to get closer to my work, like I could when I was a kid and my eyes

Now, if I were digging around inside a live patient as a surgeon, I might
not want to get quite so close .

Don't forget, if your fingers get stiff or the bands get too punk to
operate, you can always SWL the BC stations with it!
When you add the 30/80 module, it'll get a lot hotter receiving the 49 meter
SWL band too. That module resonates the input circuit a little better to

So I've been debugging as I get time my recently finished K2, and trying
to find out why it's got no output.
Tonight I traced all of the DC voltage points in the troubleshooting

another.
