If you want to operate ssb with a foot switch PTT and have CW available
at the touch of a key, leave the K3 in VOX mode, lower the vox gain so
that vox does not operate (if you use the foot switch, you don't need
any VOX gain), then if you want

first VOX/QSK active in CW mode then in SSB mode you are able to send

Maybe you've used up the 1/4" black pan head screws elsewhere and you're trying
to us a 3/16" pan head screw for the transistors? Measure the pan head screw
length (which does not include the pan head) to see if perhaps you're trying to
fit a 3/16" screw there.

it says what I think it does, we used that technique
back in the 60's when I ran a Heathkit SB100
transceiver. Worked a lot of DX with it, and
was nearly always spot on their frequency.

with all possible option kits except transverter adapter. I packed it all in

Problem exists here with 2.00 (I'm not gonna reload 1.99 to check it).
Everything all right *except* in CW mode when I shift from VOX to PTT.
In PTT mode with all known PTT inputs disconnected, keying in CW using
either the internal keyer or an external keyer, causes RF to appear at
the output
I installed 2.0 last nite.
Dumb luck I guess, but everything is working fine here.
Can operate QSK, semi, vox or whatever; no sticking, no problems.

I have v.2.00 firmware installed, and I also find the CW VOX stuck on in the CW
mode. It is also stuck in QSK in CW mode. SEMI is the same as QSK. Roy

Good thought, Phil. Actually I have an external speaker plugged in, a NCS 8
ohm, and I did try unplugging the speaker to see what would happen. Same
story - no change in hash. The answer has got to be in the cable itself. If
it's verified with a solution, I can actually have another cable made.

I think you are using the wrong knob. Setting VFO OFS to ON, enables use of
the RIT knob as a fast tuning feature, not the VFO B knob. Hoffentlich das
