Hello Holger,
Don is correct. Do all the modifications for your early K3 #283.
Usually, the first kg is the most expensive in terms of shipping costs from US
to Germany. Therefore, if you order ALL the modification parts from Elecraft
at one go, there will be savings in shipping cost - the

I would recommend all the upgrades. I cannot think of any that are mode

If you hear the COR relay clicking while transmitting, you do not have
enough isolation between the TX and RX antennas (or your power is
greater than the isolation of the antennas will permit).

Hi,
I have a question about the diversity mode where you use ant1 on the main
receiver and ant2 on the sub. IN the manual it says "This requires that the
two antennas connected to the KAT3 be well isolated from each other. If not,
the sub receiver’s carrier-operated relay may turn on during transm

The K2/100 PA fits nicely inside the K2...(my experience)...and if
you try it, you will find it is not a "cram" job. I think it would be
much more convenient than trying to run things "outboard."

The KIO2 is not actually a requirement, but it does provide the K2 to

Don, just press TUNE as Dennis noted. The K3 will transmit a carrier at the
initial level set in CONFIG:TUN PWR menu. Once you press TUNE, you can
adjust the RF output of the K3 to anything within its range from almost zero
to 100 watts by turning the PWR knob.

Not a lot of wiring at all. There are only 2 cables - one is the coax

Dennis,
One can just hit TUNE, but the power output MAY be controlled by the

I would suggest that Don wire up a switch. A SPST switch and a 1/4 inch

Don,
Use the K3 TUNE button (not ANT TUN) This will do what you want and be at
the power level set with the power control. If you want to use a lower
setting than what is set with PWR go to CONFIG TUN PWR and set it to
whatever power you want to use.

My K2/10 is most times sufficient for DX. But, sometimes it would be nice to

what options others have found useful recently. Have encountered some

George,
Whether a Y adapter will work or not depends on your band decoder. Most
do not issue any commands on the RS-232 bus, they only listen and
respond accordingly. Check with the manufacturer of the decoder to know
for certain - if the decoder connects only receivers to the RS-232
lines,
Holger,
If you do the DSP board exchange, you do not have to be concerned about
the level of your current board - you will receive the latest level DSP
board in the exchange..
I believe the LPF can be added to any DSP board level.

Neither the web site listing on the order page, nor the referenced manual
