years), although I do have a tad more amp-hours available than you'd need for

For connecting ANY radio to HRD (or any other application) for rig
control, You connect the computer serial port TXD to the RXD pin on the
radio, and the RXD of the port to the TXD pin on the radio. Those are
pins 2 and 3. You also must connect RS-232 Signal Ground which is pin 5.
Last weekend I discovered the AF knob for the sub RX on my K3 was
broken in half. I don't have the sub so I don't use that knob. Just a
failure. I e mailed Elecraft two days ago I got 2 sets of replacement
knobs. Can't beat that.

only a very small difference in the current consumption. On mine, the
total P3 current goes from about 590 mA to about 580 mA. (That's with a
13.8V supply. The current is higher with a lower supply voltage.)
