sold. If that changes, I will contact those who showed interest in order of

Hi Mike,
Think of the leg of the Y cable that goes to the K3 as the Elecraft leg.
Take the cable that now goes to the K3 and move it to the P3. Then take the
short serial cable supplied with the P3 and connect it between the P3 and
the K3.

Pelican's foam inserts have pick&pluck precut foam which allows you to shape
the middle section of foam to the device you're storing in it. Using your
fingers you can easily remove the precut squares of foam until the entire
cutout closely matches the shape of your radio including the knobs.

Hi folks,
For years, I have worked portable with an inverted-vee as a multiband antenna
and a ladder line feeder. With the KX1 internal tuner, the T1 or a LDG Z-817,
once tuned in a band, I did not have to re-tune as long as I stayed in that
band.

Just to make sure my age fuzzed brain got it:
The "Y" stays where it is, plugged into the K3. The cable from the
computer moves from that to the P3, then the shorty goes from the P3 to
the "Y".

Mike,
That will work ONLY if the SteppIR can listen in on 38400 bps traffic.
If it needs any other speed, then you must put the "Y" on the P3.
Check the data speeds that the SteppIR will handle.

Hi Mike,
That is not correct. Please reread my response. Keep in mind that the P3 has
two RS232 ports on it. One port from the computer and one port to the K3.
If you wait until you get the P3 and its manual in your hands you'll see
that it is really quite simple. Everything you need is contained

Hi Stan,
What I often do is to make very frequent band change so I would have to

higher threshold for all bands.
Or another possibility: At the start of a session, I could do a tuning
somewhere in each band I plan to use. Th

It should work either way, but it would be better to put the SteppIR "Y"
RS-232 cable on the PC side of the P3 instead of the K3 side. As Dick
mentioned, then you aren't limited to 38400 baud. And also there is
less traffic on that side, which may be less confusing to the SteppIR.

Pierre,
When you "bypass" the tuner, it is taken out of the circuit (well
almost) - sort of like no tuner at all.
You would only want to set the tuner to bypass if you have resonant
antennas or you are working into a dummy load.

Hi John,
I noticed the same thing on my radio. I assigned the "AFX MD" menu item to my
PF1 key so I can easily change between delay, pitch, and turn it off (and PF2
key is for dual watch).
Hopefully it will be fixed in an upcoming release, but I consider it a minor
bug only.
