John, This reflector covers all Elecraft products. The notch filter is only used to notch out an *unwanted* signal - use it carefully since you can easily notch out the signal that you are trying to receive. First use the DSP filter to home in on the wanted signal - the PBT knob. The roofi

Harlan, There are enough to store data for each band segment in the 160m thru 6m bands. Page 15 of the KAT500 manual shows the width of each band segments:  Below 3 MHz the segments are 10 kHz wide.  From 3 MHz through 26 MHz the segments are 20 kHz wide.  From 26 MHz to 38 MHz the segments

Are the segments on fixed frequencies? I like to work through the bands I use before contests to set up tuning. Sometimes in the following contest I find a frequency which seems to be between segments, retuning within 10KHz either side doesn't then seem to correct the tuning on the specific frequen

Frank, As you have indicated, those settings will get you started. But definitely use DATA A, not USB. Reason is that Compression and EQ is automatically set to zero, and your SSB settings can remain undisturbed. You mic gain setting is the most important when using data modes. Set it so you

Thanks all. I did notice the chart in the manual but wasn’t sure if the memory could hold all of that for all bands/antenna. I’m working on a program to automate this process (with manual transmit so as not to disturb ongoing QSO’s), and didn’t want to set up more than the memory would allow.
