and they look correct. The PWR knob is fully clockwise,
I'm not in test mode, etc., etc. I've sent an email to Elecraft
but I thought I'd check here as well to see if anyone has
seen this behavior.

Greetings,
I just purchased a new computer (with Vista) as my old computer finally
died. Is there driver support for the KUSB cable and if so, where can
I download them? I noticed that the Prolific web site mentioned something
about not supporting Vista.
Thanks,

Never mind. It appears the Microsoft drivers are adequate. I've loaded
the drivers and I'm in the process of updating the K3 firmware.

Greetings everyone,
I just noticed some odd behavior with IF DSP that I hadn't noticed
up until now. I'm not sure if I inadvertently changed a setting to
cause this behavior or not:
When I activate IF DSP, (VFO B / any setting) my S-meter goes to zero
whether I'm locked on to a signal or not.
Greetings,
I'm currently seeing a consistent S5 for noise level on 20m with the
pre-amp activated. It drops to S3 with the pre-amp disabled. This
reading was taken at noon time on the east coast. Does this sound
reasonable based on current conditions, or do you think I'm experiencing
IF, using only DSP, using both, etc.)
Thanks,
- Bill

I forgot the following settings:
MIC GAIN = 40 (had to set higher for Heil versus stock mic)
Compression = 10

BTW, I'm not locked down to the Quiet Phones. If someone thinks
the regular Proset phones are a better value, I'm completely open
to suggestions. These will be used exclusively in my shack which
is pretty quiet to begin with.

Can anyone tell me if the K3 shipment via UPS requires

My wife just contacted UPS and they stated that no signature
would be required. I guess if you lived in an apartment or something,
the wouldn't leave the package without signature.

Greetings everyone,
I just received my K3 this afternoon. I'm using the stock Elecraft
microphone.
Can someone please provide me with some decent microphone settings to
get started? (ALC, CMP, Monitor, etc.) I have no idea what to set these
to and I was hoping that some of you have already

I'll be receiving my K3 tomorrow afternoon and I had a question in regards

kind of cable will I need? (standard

My K3 will be shipped out any day now! (woo-hoo)
I've decided to pickup a Heil headset, but I'm not sure if I should
go with the Elecraft proset-k2, or just run out to HRO and grab
a proset-4, etc. Questions:
1.) If I decide to pick one up at at HRO
that's pinned out for Kenwood radios? (8-pin)
2.) Does the Elecraft proset-k2 come already wired for the K3 with
no soldering required?
** I'm trying to avoid any soldering if possible.
Any pros/cons of either of these choices?
Thanks!

Does anyone know if there's a Rigblaster or Signalink product
that supports the K3? I'm looking for a plug n' play canned solution
to support the digital modes.

Also, if anyone is interested in selling their K2, please email me.
It'll probably be 1-2 weeks however until I'm ready to make the
purchase, but I'm definitely interested.
