I am looking for someone willing to troubleshoot and finish my K2, s/n
5567. I have completed the project up to the "Alignment and Test, Part
II", page 60. At step 3 of the 4MHz Oscillator Calibration I get a
reading of 12600 kHz instead of the expected reading of 12090 kHz. It
has almost been
on one of the jacks.
Now I can blow my ears off before I get to st L 100.
Thanks again.

Thanks for the reply Ron,
I also tried a set of iPod earbuds with the same results.

Good Morning everyone,
When doing the "Audio Amplifier and Tone Generator Test" how loud should
the side tone be. Use a pair of Sony portable headphones I can't hear
anything until I'm well into 150+, even at max volume of 200+ it is very
quiet.
Do I have a problem somewhere?

Good Afternoon everyone,
An update on my issue. I removed R19 from the circuit, measured the
voltage at RP2 pin 2 and found 0 vdc. I checked the frequency at TP3
and still find 12.602 MHz. Now I know the problem doesn't lie in the
thermistor board as the problem is still there even with the t
Hello eveyone, I am getting back to troubleshooting the problem I am

Good evening everyone,
I have just completed RF assembly part II and started the alignment and test
when right off the bat I have a problem.
The "4 MHz Oscillator Calibration" step 3 on page 60 states "the counter should
show a frequency of 12090 kHz +/- 30 kHz". Well mine reads 12600. S

Hello
I've been busy building my K2. I have completed the control and front panel
boards with all checks reading as they should. Have just completed Part I of
the RF board and everything checks out fine except when I test the frequency
counter probe on the left side of C22 the display does
Hello everyone,
It was pleasant surprise to arrive home the other day to find my K2 had
arrived. The inventory is now complete and only missing one part. Need to get
a few tools, mainly a soldering station then the building can start.

Good Morning,
I seem so new to a lot of things this morning. I just ordered my K2 last
week and am still waiting it's arrival. I can't wait to get started on
the kit. Although not a big kit builder I did warm up with a couple of
smaller projects, a keyer and TinyTrak. I love the idea of being
