After reading the owners manual on this new 7700
rig, the only thing I found unusual is the
Auto Tune feature on both CW and AM.
Beside being large heavy with no sub receiver -- another downer is
the 4 large fans and the potential to be very noisy like some of their
other gear.

Quadra amp, it would no doubt require a higher drive level than a barefoot
K2
if you want a decent output level.
Hopefully Elecraft will come through with an amp kit this year.

Or another way to get it working the way I want besides having to

turn the Vox off at turn off, probably after the rig came up putting out

I just finished building K2 #5600 and I found winding the toroids to be
extremely easy -- if you follow a few simple rules. Its true you
have to take great care when winding the toroids. If you follow the
directions in the manual exactly, you wont have any trouble.
Here
LM833 on hand to be able to confirm thats what
happened but it would appear so.
Am I the only one who has had the probe slip on U2 while trying to read the
AGC Threshold Voltage?

heat perfectly, unlike these new all steel tips. Even though this
Xytronic 379
has auto temp control, it cant keep up with the heat loss of the B03 hollow
tip
and I've found it completely useless for even a tinniest of pads.

use some zip cord off some other piece of gear but it would have been
lots better if it was included in the kit?
During FD last weekend, the K2 I used worked exceedingly well on CW.
So it appears to be worth the pain of building one.

the end of the dot arm and another without
the added extender. The 2 extension can be removed easily as
its threaded into the end of the steel arm. It requires some milling
along with two threaded holes. So is fairly easy to construct.
