Yes. This is correct and Elecraft has a configuration file for your KX3 by
your serial number including configuration/calibration data for any options
such as the filter.

The information on calibration of filter is in the owner's manual. The
version I have, it is on page 32 under the heading "CALIBRATION". It
clearly states that if the filter and KX3 were ordered and shipped at the
same time, the filter calibration is not needed.

you do a better job of it in your own shack after you assemble your
particular KX3 - the answer is a definite YES. The alignment that comes

No error codes and time set OK as well as alarm set OK and worked. I used
spacer and screw from included hardware but mounting screws from old board. Set
to WWV and after 24hr, seconds are still right on.

This weekend I took my KX3 on a camping trip and used the 24' wire antenna
and 16' / 33' counterpoise wires I used for my KX1.
I was able to tune reasonably well on 20 meters and even 30, but was unable
to tune less than 3:1 on 40. Wayne used to recommend 24-28' for the KX1.

3 watts, so if your output power needs are at 3 watts or less, you

Hi all,
I've just had my new KX3 on air for the first time, but have been
plagued by an extremely annoying noise when tuning. The noise
is most obvious on 10 and 12m, but is audible down to at least
20; it sounds like a series of mushy clicks as I tune, and makes
tuning quite unpleasant.
Setting
KX3 doesn't pass signal audio.
Has button tones and CW monitor tones.
XG3 input shows correct AGC "S9" on all bands but no CW tone output.
Any ideas???

Hi all
I have the internal charger option fitted now.
I noticed when the radio is off you get the charging count down.
But after a while the count down becomes gibberish. Just random mess.
Any have this problem.

... Solutions found. One of the pad of the KX3s DC connector was disconnected.
I simply removed the side panel, and with a thin point soldering tool, the
place was sufficient to get to the pad (while protecting the plastic) and
re-solder it Hope that it will hold ... simple solution.

Does this mean it will automatically tune without user action?
If so, how do you set the SWR at which it begins the tuning process.

strange (inconsistent) behavior.
In digital mode contest traffic it is necessary to switch to RX immediately
after exchange has been sent. I learned that the way to do this is to
send KYW;RX; to the serial interface.

I noticed if my KX3 is in split mode, and transmitting, and the commandS 0
VFOA. Is issued, the power level drops to zero. The very next time the
transmission starts again, the power slowly increases from zero to whatever
wattage I had set for power out. Is this some sort of safety feature?
Is there a mod required to use the KX3 outside ham bands?

Hello,
I just had an issue with my KX3 and was wondering if anyone else has
seen this error before.
I was using memory location 1 to call CQ on 20M SSB. While the the

I have a question for a friend who is looking for a KX3 used. Are older
serial numbers like the 2000s vs 7000s different hardware?
In other words, what on the used market should he look for, or is there much
difference. I know the K3 series are different, but I don't know about the
KX3s.

I haven't used my KX3 2M option in a while, but just turned it on to work
some local FM repeaters and I'm having an issue with it overheating very
rapidly and cutting out. I worked some HF over the weekend with no issues.

Me too. In find that the "NEW QSK" is the same as the "OLD QSK" with a slight
delay. It's better to turn down the RF gain if you get too much "popping" sound
