Merlin, First, yes, be certain RIT and XIT are truly not active, then see if the VBFO signal changes voltage (be certain you are in SSB mode) when switching from transmit to receive - monitor control board U10 pin 14. If it does change, I would venture a guess that the firmware THINKS either RIT

Many thanks to all who answered, including those who helpfully suggested that I might be using RIT or XIT without knowing it. I just put a frequency counter on the BFO on my K2, and it changes about 70Hz when it goes from receive to transmit. Yeah, I know, there's not supposed to be any

Hisashi, It sounds like the K2 may be too close to the power supply. Try putting the PS 1-2 feet from the K2 and see if that takes care of the problem. Tim Raymer At 13:28 07/09/2004, Hisashi T Fujinaka wrote: Last night I tried to get on the air with my new K2. The receiver sounded great,

I had the same problem as you. However, the K2 was GREAT on the air. I finally traced the problem to the fact that both were using the same power supply (cured most of it) and to much transmit power - used a dummy load for both the K2 and the 706 with the K2 at about 1 watt. As my XYL is a ham I
