I've only built one K2, #5957. I installed the Rework Eliminators as I
went along with the build, and there was no problem doing so.
Subsequently, I installed all the on-board options for the K2. What with

I did not install the rework elimininators and wish I had. I added the KSB2
last year and did not really enjoy the disassembly and reassembly of the K2
that was required. I also had difficulty desoldering the RF board jumpers

What I do is install the option sockets and plug the components and jumpers
that will be removed into the socket. You must be careful, then, that they do
not fall out. This works for all options except the K60XV, which requires

Stan,
If you install the rework eliminators, I strongly recommend you do *not*

I agree with what Elecraft say, Stan, and just follow the excellent

Yes, the rework eliminators are no longer available, but if you have the

Hello,
I'm getting ready to FINALLY start my K2 build, so have been reviewing the

Another advantage is if you buy an option like KSB or one of the filters and
decide it isn't what you want, just unplug it, install the bypass header,

No disassembly, etc.
