The EC directive (and related documents) have tests to protect both on-board
and off-board receivers. The vehicle test is practically the same as CISPR 12
and 55012.

I've seen this on a video related to Frank Leferink's reverb tents, where the
modes are stirred by shaking the side wall of the tent. The fabric is think
enough to see the tube inside.

Should we ban the use of mobile phones in our test lab (i.e. outside our test
chambers, but in the same EM environment as the sig gens, spectrum analysers,
receivers etc.)?

they will probably be insignificant when measured with a QP detector anyway.

There is a new draft automotive EMC directive that contains requirements for
ISO 7637 Transients as well as radiated emission and radiated immunity that
are in the current directive.

I got confused with the effective length of a half wave dipole.
1) It is due to non-constant current distribution, or
2) It is due to the wave velocity in materials different from that in
vacuum.

Any Commercially available Biconical Antenna should have a balun built in to
the structure of the antenna. (Normally a block that the elements connect
into). The output will be a 50ohm N-type or BNC and can be used with the

at higher frequencies (shorter wavelengths), the same position in front of the
antenna will have phase errors where there were no problems at lower
frequencies.
