The programs I've been writing for my Along the G-Code Way columns in

I have to second Gene's caution about using PC-based data collection tools,

If anyone has any large or complex g-code files they can share, please let

some files to test it with.

I think it was an issue with the encoder emulation (and one that

Shaffin,
I don't believe this has a whole lot todo with a distribution,
just pick a right kernel that is supported by OpenSuze and compile this
with RTAI. I have done this for Debian myself. Just take
a proper config from a working kernel from Ubuntu/Debian
that will make a good start.

I have used the IRAMS. It's very simple to use. I was driving it
with a dSpace control system, so it's not really a diy project from
that point of view. My main concern was not blowing up the control
with the driver.
I really wanted to convert my circuit over to drive servos using a

Has anyone been able to compile, port the EMC stack onto OpenSuse with

I have. With an Arduino.

I have also used it driven from the three-phase PWM from a Mesa card.

Without information such as what was in those posts, this is difficult

Hi Kirk,
Yes on the surface this looks like an esc project. However the fact that it has
multiple interfaces supported such as CAN, i2c, pwm and serialmean that it can
certainly send and receive the sort of data you are looking for.
I am well aware that an esc is different than a cnc driver, h
I am just curious, in what application is it needed to know motor shaft
position to fractions of a degree even with constant and variable loads when
running at 2 rpm?
