[Emc-users] Can a regular 3 phase spindle motor be used as a servo motor

2011-03-07 Thread Igor Chudov
I have, on my mill, a 3 phase spindle motor on a VFD, driving the spindle with a VS belt. I also have an encoder on the spindle. I wonder if, for any kind of a yet-unknown purpose, I would want to orient my spindle in a particular way with precision. If I did want that, could I buy some kind of

its a very tricky question to answer as depends how dynamic you want or need it. we used a standard Hz mode VFD to control a CNC spindle motor as Flux Vector has a limit of 4000rpm on our VFD so had to use Hz mode to get to 6000+ can check out afew vids here poke around on my other vids too ht

Robert, would you show some examples of such drives, so that I know what to look for? Thanks! On Mon, Mar 7, 2011 at 4:52 PM, robert wrote: > Control Techneques, Yaskawa etc all do high level VFDs todo just what > you have asked some/most vfd only do it to 1 postion on the encoder > feedback, ot

Hi Kirk, That looks really snazzy. One thing to note is that the ModIO can work as a RS-232 to RS485 converter as well, so you can daisy chain other Modbus devices such as a VFD or more ModIOs, etc. On the Engineering notes page is EN007 which depicts the jumper setting for utilising the ModIOs o
