So what is the remedy for this?

No or too low
No. That is what I noticed when I looked at the pins in Halshow. Then I tried
to enable the limits and I got a missing pin hm2_5i25.0.7i76.0.0.input-7.

First of all, do you have any pins with 7i76 in the name?

If the config now loads, and you are using Axis, look in Machine->Show
HAL Configuration.
Or, in any GUI, open a terminal with LinuxCNC running and say "halcmd show pin"

Thanks Andy,
I have power to the board and field io. Both of the orange LEDs are on.
I tried your suggestion. As I suspected it was not just the one error.
I commented that first line out.
The result was then that hm2_5i25.0.7i76.0.0.spinout-maxlim was missing. So I
commented that out and

I forgot to add that I was building a lathe configuration, in case it is just a
bug in that area.

I tried to use pncconf to configure linuxcnc to use a 5i25 with a single 7i76
(Board Name: 5i25-Internal Data and Firmware: 7i76x2 with 1 7i76). I chose to
setup the "7i76-Analog Output" on tab TB4 and selected “Spindle Output” from
the pull down list. When I invoke linuxcnc with that config,
You can use non-pilot arc systems but you may need to tweak your pierce
cycle to nearly touch the work before you turn the torch on. I assume
your torch uses HF start. In that case pay very close attention to good
grounding and screening. HF start can play havoc with your electronics.
I would

I found the answer, it is standard "T5" or "T2.5" section belting.
Readily available in the UK at least (in fact you have to look hard to
find anything else)

I bought a bunch of magnetic handbag clasps for an unrelated project

But around 50 million users of radio-controlled clocks and wristwatches will.
It sounds like your clocks didn't synch to radio properly, isn't DST
mode part of the signal?
