Hi there,
I had both of these flashes for a while.
They both work very well. For film cameras, I definitely recommend the Sigma

I am sure both would be fine for you, however

Look at the Tokina 19-35, newer version. It's good enough, though prone to

Seems like the idea is to sell film camera's. Lenses can be used with their
digital camera's so they don't seem to include much rebate, but appaerntly
they are trying ot push the film camera's..

There is a lot of room between f2 and f16 ! FOr portraits, considering how
far you are, you should not need anything more then f8.
How far away are these little doggies? Even with f2.8, with pitch dark
ballroom, my focusing is pretty acceptable, so not sure why this is
happening to you!

105 vs 135 really does not make that much of a difference imho for portraits
purposes. both of these are slow lenses for portrait work.
28-135 is not really sharper then 28-105. or even my Tokina 28-80 2.8. All
of them have advantages and disadvantages. I have all three of these lens
I didn't get peter's original email, so i can only see this part:

This is what I wonder:
I understand that camera picks the rigth EV based on whatever the algorithm
it has (center weighed, spot, evaluative whatever). But after that, how does
it decide which combination of aperture and shutter speed?

I thought the rule was that some FS: type of adds were ok, as long as it was
not abused. Ebay was out.I personally do not mind seeing some FS: adds but
once a week from the same person is a bit too much. If no FS adds are
allowed, then I am sorry since I sent an occasional one or two (ended up

This is really stupid.
I lost my manual for Elan II and D30 manual is confusing me. In the manual
it says that the BOX mode [] is center weighted, () mode is partial and (.)
mode is evaluative. (Sorry for the approximate symbols) Is that true?

Seems like there is incompatibility even between Canon parts! Forget about
the third party!
