Just curious... Why do you avoid 100% viewfinders?

I can't understand why such a great camera body as Canon EOS 3, that
everyone bought for $1000 not too long ago, sells at $400 or so on Ebay?
And old trusty 1N can bring $450-500? So much for newer technology and
re-sale.

I'm both glad and sorry to hear that.
It's hard getting good moon pix onto 35mm film. You only get 1mm in
on-film moon diameter for every 100mm on focal length. You need a
2000mm lens to fill the frame.
The 10D's 1.6X factor will certainly help here.

How well did the 200 with the 2-2X converters work?

What I find really funny, is that while all three of you (Gary, Rober
and Tom) all praised
xcept in
the weather seal department. Plus it works on lots more lenses.

Not too hard to understand - weight is a motion dampening factor.

I can't compare, because I've not used the 50/1.8. I bought the 50/1.4
because it offers full time manual focusing (my understanding is the 50/1.8
doesn't) and from the reviews I've read, the 1.4 has faster AF than the 1.8.

Get the Kenko Pro. The quality is ALWAYS rated comparatively to the
Canons, and they work on more lenses. I have the 1.4 & 2 (though along
with a bunch, soon may hit ebay). Quality is superb.
Beyond that, I would have bought the 200 2.8 over the 70-200mm F4.
