No, a smarthost isn't needed to send mail locally. You've another
problem lurking there. It was just that I've always put the smarthost
IP address (for external mail) on the SMTP Connector and not on the VS.

I have an issue with my Outlook client showing my mailbox
twice in the folder list. When I look in >>> Tools> Services> Properties>
Advancedto see if the mailbox is listed twice it is not. Anyone have a
clue to how and fix this? Any help would be great.
I've been able to fix this before by recreating the outlook client profile
