I have been posting about this issue a few weeks ago, but got no reply (look

hotplug and setting a variable in ifcfg-eth0. I think it was foreseen to work
like this but, as already said, nobody bothered to comment on

Hi,
Are you connected to your LAN OR local network OR internet while
starting KDE or are you just starting the machine without any network
interfaces attached to it?
In any case, try appending your machine name at the end of the first
line in /etc/hosts. For example a standard /etc/hosts
In konsole Settings Bell, choose None or Visible Bell and save
with Settings Save Settings. Right-click for Settings or Show Menubar.
Thanks, now I feel stupid for asking the question :) At least you
didn't say RTFM.

Try killing the .MCOP* files. I.e., bring the machine back to the

Hello all,
I haven't updated my server to mdk 9 yet, but I've just discovered

when I installed it, it worked. Now when I try to get there from another
computer, I can't see anything in the directory. I tried

I have heard lots of complaints about Mozilla being slow and a lot of praises

Hi,
I currently have Installed Mandrake 9.0 and pureftp and apache up and
running.
Is it possible that customers can connect to my site while my ports are
stealthed (as in not detectable by portscans?).
My internet connection dials out via a 4-ports-lanswitch and an ADSL router,
and all traffic

Hi all,
I just changed the video card to a nVidia NV11 (gforce 2 mx) 32mb and trying

Could anyone who has installed avifile with this card let me know what files
