Hi, If you are a poor soul using an Intel 810 mainboard then the devfs experience is even worse. You will NEVER get your CDROM to work because /dev/cdroms/cdrom0 will NOT be registered. What you need to do in order to get a 2.4.8 kernel working is: A) BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE MAKE SURE THAT YOU BOOT
