I'm planning to upgrade my motherboard/CPU combo to an Athlon XP system.
I'm not looking for overclocking or onboard sound & video (all the
networking, sound and graphics will be using existing boards), just a
solid, reliable motherboard that works well with Mandrake 9.0 Any
recommendations?
This is probably a stupid question, but I have tried to change
Konqueror's default home page via Settings -> Configure Konqueror, as
well as the KDE options, but nothing seems to work (I'd like the browser
to come up blank). Mozilla makes this much easier, but loads slower...

You should have hdc=ide-scsi in your grub menu.lst entries or in the

I'm trying to configure my LM 9.0 to work with an IDE CD-ROM burner.
Hardrake2 lists the burder as /dev/hdc under CD/DVD burners. However,

I've loaded the ide-scsi kernel module, but I'm not sure what to do
next. My /dev directory contains no /dev/sc* or /dev/pg

Hi,
I'd like to turn off the beep that happens in konsole when an error
occurs, e.g. hitting too many times. I've tried configuring
konsole through the KDE control panel, as well as the sounds options,
but that doesn't seem to do anything. Any ideas?
Thanks,

Hello,
I have virtual hosts set up on a Mandrake server. I can access the different IP

Hello,
I have a webserver and a desktop machine both running LM 8.0. I've been reading about

Bingo! I forgot to put the "www" in the ServerName directives; I was typing

works.
Thanks!

First, thanks to all those folks who answered my question about modems.
I'm setting a small web/email server using LM 8.0 with virtual IP
addresses for different domains. However, one site has to be in
two languages, where one URI points to an English subdirectory,

Hello all,
I'm looking for an inexpensive, reliable PCI hardware modem that works with Linux.
Most of what I see at computer shows are Winmodems. Does anyone have any
recommendations? I'd appreciated it.
Thanks,
