I've seen similar problems with my HP Deskjet 670C. I found it was

I'd give this a shot since I've got tons of
disk space. I gzipped a copy of mandrake61-1.iso that was laying around
my ftp server hard drive. It gzipped okay; however, gunzipping it caused
a "format violated" error and wouldn't decompress it.

Those are the pertinent lines that were done by Mandrake 7.0 install back

I believe that it was the MVP3 and it's odd IRQ assignment features that
prompted some mobo manufacturers to ask for and ship the interrupt-sharing
patch for Winblows 95. The only thing I'd be worried about is that if you
disable the irq for the AGP, it often screws up the display.

hear most of
all in these complaint posts is each individual's frustration with being
unable to find the problems and fix the problems by themselves. I do
feel, however, that 7.0 was rushed through to production a bit too
quickly. Good product == long beta test period during which all thes

make it able to use encrypted passwords was to execute "addsmbuser" and
add all my users to that file. I also learned that if I use Linuxconf to
add users accounts to my machine, it will automatically place the new id
and password in the smbpasswd file.
