I suppose just about anyone will tell you how slow and bloated
StarOffice is, but, IMHO, it does do the job. SO5.2 does a fairly good
job of importing and exporting MS Word and Excel filessome of the
fancier formatting features may not always carry over perfectly, but it
does an exemplary job

I am very wary of the LinuxStore at this point, and would NOT refer anyone to do

Seems to be some confusion about the latest retail versions of LM 7.0,
and since nobody from Mandrake has answered this thread, thought I'd make
note of the fact that on the LM 7.0 Deluxe box, distributed by Macmillan,
in small print in the lower right hand corner of the back of the box, it
says,

Getting odd behavior with Kppp on new homebuilt Athlon 650MHz/MicroStar
K7 Pro mobo system under MDK 7.0 that was not an issue on my other
Celeron 466/Abit BM6 box.
When setting up Kppp as usual, and attempting first connection (this is
after properly configuring the USR 28.8 ISA PnP modem with '
27;betas' are much further along than this proprietary
program in terms of functionality and stability, and I can't even
remember a Mosaic 'beta' ever crumbling this badly. If I'm getting a
proprietary browser, then Opera will need to really fix what they've
done so far before
