I can't seem to find it in the passwd man page and I know this is possible
(at least in HP-UX), but I've previously been able to set a one-time
password for new users (or if they'd forgotten their passwd) where upon
logging in, they'd be prompted to create a new password.

flag to zero, it logs me in simply with no warning (as if nothing was ever
done).

I have a habit of making things hard for myself:-(
Yesterday, I was playing with hdparm to put my 2 drives to sleep as I was just doing
lengthly reading on the net.
My current info is: hda1 is a fujitsu 2GB with Win95
hdc6 is a Maxtor 10GB with Mandrake7.
configtest
it says that sanity check is [OK], then I can init 5 and it goes back and boots into X
with no problem. It happily goes passed the httpd [OK], drakfont [OK] etc.
However, I tried for completness, going to maintainence mode and then init 5 _without_
typing the 'apachectl conf

I think you have the same problem I had before. Did you enable hard drive
optimizations in the install? If so try again without that setting.

I'm having problems printing from a machine using Linux Mandrake
7.0. The error messages are the following:
lpr: : temp file write error
lpr: stdin: empty input file
and were generated while trying to print from kghostview. I cannot even
print from root
. From other applications I can do it as expected normally.
Probably the file I am trying to print is too large to fit into other
temporary directories I have to clean up.
