These are mirrors of the rpms. Download and install the ones you want. All the initial
install does is give you this list of apps, and you choose which ones you want.

I just completed a full install of Mandrake 7.1
As I did not initially configure the networking correctly, the part of the
install that grabs the security packages from the net did not work.
Now that I have everything configured correctly, is there a way I can run this
part of the install or do
configure it manually !!

I've installed 7.1 a few times now and can't get past the X install. I just
get a black screen. cntrl-alt-bkspce doesn't help either. I can't
switch to another virtual terminal (alt F2, alt F3, etc.). I have to reboot
the machine and do a manual install of X4.0 with the binaries from
Xfree86.

Just do a reinstall and choose "Expert" and "Upgrade" Then you can choose
the programs at will.

I finally installed 7.1! All I can say is EXCELLENT job Mandrake! SUPERB,
OUTSTANDING!!! This past weekend at the OCLUG, I was asked why I prefer
Mandrake to Redhat. My respond, Redhat is cake, Mandrake is cake and ice
cream.

I did all that but then gave up and put the 3c509 card in the win98

The disk is referred to often as the "Extras" disk, the ISO is merely
EXT, but the install refers to it as Extension. Notice the EXT that
seems to be common throughout? :-)

Greets all,
I purchased mandrake 7.1 disk 1 and 2 from www.lsl.com and installed
last night.
My question is, during the install (custom/workstation/install) I was
asked which of 3 additional disks did I have and none of the titles
given for the three matched that which was on either of my disks

Hi there,
I'm having a hard time installing Mandrake 7.1 on a Sony Vaio PCG-N505X
(that's one of these small subnotebooks).
To install, the kernel needs to know that the CD-ROM is on a tertiary
IDE-controller, i.e. you need a kernel parameter like ide2=0x180,0x386,15

I think y'all are attributing some sinister motives here that
prob'ly aren't deserved. I installed 7.1 from lland.com 2 Cd's
just a few day's ago. When I was asked for a 3rd CD, I just lied
and clicked OK anyhow. Install said, 'can't find' the files and went
online to d/l 'em. When I saw

Hi Daniel,
THIS IS THE THIRD TIME I'VE RESPONDED TO THIS QUESTIONS
ON THIS EXACT SUBJECT (3c509) IN THE LAST FOUR DAYS.
I HOPE THE MANDRAKE GUYS ARE PAYING ATTENTION.
3com 3c509 is/was one of the most popular NIC's around,
something should be done to address this issue at install time.
