Hi list, here i have two strange problems, the first one is that i cant
mount my CD-R and at boot time the kernel doesnt recognize it as an scsi
device but on saturday i was able to write a cd using cdrecord!! as a
matter of fact the xcdroast recognize my cd-r as a scsi device so how
can
I'm using Mandrake 8.0 and have two problems:
1) When using XMMS or any multimedia application,
which uses PCM for sound output, sound comes only from
my rear speakers (SBLive!). And that's an important
problem for me, since my subwoofer requires that sound
comes also from the front speakers.

I am having a couple of problems with ssh
1. When I try to open some graphical programs from the
ssh server on the client, I get the following message:
channel 0: istate 4 != open
channel 0: ostate 64 != open
channel 1: istate 4 != open
channel 1: ostate 6

Thanks for answering.
I commented out only one line. I followed the instructions at
www.openssh.com in the FAQ. It states
2.6 - X11 and/or agent forwarding does not work.
Check your ssh_config and sshd_config. The default configuration files
disable authent
Mandrake really needs 3 lists:
- newbie
- KnowEnuf2bDangerous
- expert
See if you can guess which category I'm in. Anyway...
1. I like to use my vi keys for command line editing (ESC-K brings up the last
command). In RH 6.0 and prior versions, I've put "set -o vi" in /etc/bashrc
and it worked

I've never heard of a ~/.inputrc or know what IIRC means. I tried putting
"set-o vi" in a ~/.inputrc file (aka $HOME/.inputrc), but it was not

I have just installed LM8.0 on my PC. It can be really slow (P 200 48mb
ram) compared to newer PCs but I was really expecting better performance
from LM8.0.
