I am running Finale 2003 on my new Mac Powerbook laptop. I had to use
this workaround to be able to print on my HP Laserjet 2200dn laser
printer (otherwise I would get an postscript error message from the
Printer Utility).
HOWEVER...my HP printer is capable of double sided printing, and before
I just got a new Mac Powerbook G4 Laptop computer, and when I tried to
install FinMac 2003 onto it, I got a dialogue box that says since this
will be running in Classic, to reboot the computer in OS9 and then
install Finale.
There is no OS9 on this computer. Now what?

I'm seriously considering getting a Mac G4 Powerbook laptop, and want to
make sure I won't have any problems running FinMac 2003 on it in Classic.
Thanks.

I just upgraded my Mac G4 to OSX, and am having trouble using internal
playback when running FinMac 2003 in Classic mode (external playback
through my MIDI interface/synthesizer works perfectly). For internal
speakers, when I hit play, I get a faint sound AND, more distressingly,

I was delighted to see the announcement of Finale 2004 for Mac, mainly
because, after years of begging and begging, smart hyphens have
finally been included!!! Yippee!!!
And then I looked at the system requirements...Mac OS 9.x, plus at least
200 MB of empty hard drive space. Let's see...I'm
Using Finale 2003 on a Mac, I find that grace notes are often too far
away from the notes they precede. HOWEVER...after I use special tools to
nudge these grace notes to the right, closer to the regular value notes,
I often find that, after I close down the file and re-open, the grace

If you are running one of the new Mac G5's or Mac Titanium Laptops, do
you know if I will be able to still run Finale 3.7.2 (in addition to
FinMac 2003 and 2004)? Don't laugh...I have a tremendous number of files
on 3.7.2 which I would need to be able to access from time to time.
Thanks.
Is it possible in Finale 2003 for Mac to have both unslashed and slashed
grace notes in the same file? If so, how do I accomplish that?
Thanks,

If I do shell out for a new Mac and OSX, does anyone know if i'll be
able to load Finale 3.7.2 onto it and run that version (in addition to
Finale 2003 and 2004), as I have a large number of files in that format.

I believe Hal Owen (or someone on this list), recently posted a reply
concerning how to fix the difference in printed output on FinMac 2003
(which has an 85% size compared to earlier versions of Finale at 100%
output).
Unfortunately, I trashed that response on how to fix this. Could someone

I have just completed a file using FinMac 2003, and as part of the piece, I
downloaded the figured bass library and also added many more figures for

How can I take the entire chord library I used (and saved) as part of this

I ran the word extension plug-in in a 2003 file, on a Mac G4, OS 8.6. It
works great...EXCEPT...
...every once in a while, the plug in skips a couple of spots throughout
the score where a word extension should appear. Anyone else have this
happen? Any fixes, or explanations?
Thanks in advance.
Does FinMac 2003 finally address the issue of adding hyphens between
syllables over onto a new system, or do I need to continue to add a phantom
hyphen (option-space-hyphen) to accomplish this?
