The system I have is a laptop--an MPC T2300. The key element is the 2gB of RAM. I'd say my processor (Centrino @ 2 gHz) is in the bottom third of the user group. Some of the demos start with a MIDI file and are then passed to a sequencer/DAW, or are conceived & executed totally in the sequence

True, but the original question was how to copy a DVD, and purchasing Toast, while it is a great program, seems overkill. And I don't think his DVD that he wanted a copy of was Dual Layer...Not sure if DiskUtility can copy Dual Layers, but it works fine for single (4.7Gigabyte) DVDs.
