Hi all,
Just going over something, and trying to remember which vocal arranger or
company (U.S., mid-20th century) printed English lyrics in supposedly singable
phonetic format to encourage 'proper' singing sounds. I used to have one of
these pieces of sheet music, but can't find it any more.

Hello Paul,
I've seen this on occasion. It has to do with using a dotted smart shape
within a system. These shapes CAN give you the results you are seeing. It's
not always a consistent problem. The 3rd system is not using any dotted
smart shapes so as you can see there is no problems. As an
With Mac 10.5 you can often solve font-related issues by clearing the
font cache. (Google the topic and you will find much discussion and
suggested solutions.) When I switched to Leopard I had mound of
similar sounding problems until I cleared my font cache.

As Steve says, it can be hunt-and-peck. I've learned to back up to the last
good symbol that has a line involved, and delete it. I'd do the 104

I'm working on a large orchestral score that has a lot of rit. and accel. with

My question is, how do I get the smart lines in all of the parts? You place it
at the top of the score and it will only appear in Flute 1, as it should, but
in none of the other parts. If it were a simple matter of copying and pasting
from one staff to another afterwards in my parts file that

copy to all parts using mass copy filter set only to measure-attached
shapes. however, do NOT copy this to parts where smart shapes are
present in the measure
Remember too, that Smart lines using custom arrowheads do not print
to PDF at all, causing errors in the PDF and EPS creation. I think I
remember there being issues with rotated text in Smart Lines too, but
I can't remember now what it was exactly.

holy crap that is AWESOME, i realized by accident only today that
selecting awhole page of them will align them on individual staves,
but didn't know that it would do it across systems as well. very
kewl. of course this is most useful when dealing with the problem of
custom smart shapes
What's the preferred size for fretboards? System reduction is 85%. (Page
size and staff size isn't reduced.) Can I leave the fretboard size at 100%
(in the Chords MenuResize Fretboards) or should I bump it up to compensate
for the reduced system size?
I've never really used fretboards before so

Thanks. That's what I've done in the past I suppose, but I've never had a
project with nearly this many.
Can anyone think of any pitfalls to rigging a dummy empty staff for tempo
markings and including it in the parts? It seems that would be a hell of a lot
easier, especially with this many
i tihnk the only real prob would be speedy entry, i remember having
probs with this in the past. if you don't plan on editing much it
won't be a hassle, but you enter and then have to hit return to get
to the part staff. it might have to do with the staff order, i seem
