This keeps crashing on me (two different G3 machines, one an old beige
beast 300mhz, the other a b&w 450mhz). Previous version seemed much more
stable. There's a 4.51 version now anyway, maybe it would be more stable?

There is a problem with Mac OS X 10.2.3 not recognizing some internal
CD-RWs at all. Does iTunes see it? Sometimes inserting a disk with
something on it "wakes up" the ability of the system to see the drive.
I saw this on macfixit.com.

I (must not have been submitted to the list) was complaining about ADC
and the December 2002 development tools.
ADC is a secure website that logs people out after 15 minutes. If the
user decides to download something--- say a 300 MB file-- the website
will refer the request to a password protect
Er, don't know what you're replying to, but people might want to try
using curl, with the macbinary parts. curl has an option to do ranges,
e.g.
...[002-030].bin
make sure you put single quotes around the whole URL, also use the -O
option probably would help ;-)

I'll give a try too. That 15 minute login may lead to sleepless nights
with a modem my friend:)

Apple has made available a December 2002 update to their Developer Tools,
available now via the Apple Developer Connection. (You will need to be an
ADC member to download, but registration is free for basic services.) The
updater is a 301.2MB download (single or segmented).
So, does anyone know if

I like to always have the latest packages from CVS. Is it feasible to do
the following to save some by not compiling the already-up-to-date
binary packages, like xfree86-base:
