After a self-update/update-all on Monday grace is broken. There is a
library missing:
/sw/lib/libnetcdf.3.dylib
Which is a symlink to a library that is not there:
-> /sw/lib/libnetcdf.3.6.1.dylib
Linking to libnetcdf_c++.3.6.1.dylib doesn't help the situation.

My fink is upto date.
But Martin is correct.
I was using apt-get to install the binary distrib.
I was able to easily find and install the binary fftw package and grace
works now.
But, as Martin says "In an ideal world", it would be nice if there is a
dependency list that I can look up to see whic

descriptions and see if the problem you are having is already fixed before

xmgrace is dependent on the fftw package.
But there is no mention of this dependency anywhere.
Without the fftw package, I get

Shishir Pandya,
Martin-
I rebuilt and reinstalled lesstif and then grace from unstable. xmgrace
launches correctly, now, though I haven't had a chance to test if it's
fully functional yet.
Thanks!

This is a lesstif problem. I think you need to install the latest
lesstif-0.93.18 from unstable and then rebuild all packages (grace in
particular) that depend on lesstif.
I've been using fink on my Mac OS X 10.1.2 system for a while in a
smallish way without any problems.
(But now, he says...) I recently installed grace. Currently, fink
update-all doesn't want to update anything. When I try and run the GUI
version of grace, though, I get

You should have the fftw package installed. If not, install it. If so,
reinstall it ('fink reinstall')--this reinstalls all the files without
recompiling, and if that doesn't work, try rebuilding it ('fink rebuild').

I would love it if I could also get advice about grace and Xfree86-4.2.x.
Marco, do you have a summary of the advice you recieved and the way you got
