We have been making synthetic (combined with leather padding) harness for
eight years. Joe Glick's comments on synthetic and on leather harness is
pretty much on the mark. I would only add to his comment on harness forming
to the horse.

Ever tried pine tar? It's messy black stuff, but might keep it moist
without allowing bacteria. All I've used it for is healing wounds,
and it does a good job of that.

Hi-
I have an older thoroughbred/quarter horse right now but no Fjords. I
would like to buy one myself. I am a beginner and am just coming off broken
ribs
from an ill-fitted lesson horse and the Fjord sounds just what I need (I'm a
little gun shy now)

Dear list,
My family and I went camping this past weekend with Ben, the Fjord, and
Blackhawk, our gaited appaloosa. First off, this was our first campout with
Ben. I was concerned about him as he and Blackhawk don't exactly see eye to

She's
a beautiful horse. Circumstances are focing my hand. It breaks my heart to

Yes, I did read about the merger, and it is GREAT news! I think this is a big
step in the direction we (the NFHR) are going to continue to preserve the
purity of the Fjord horse, as well as adding a bit to our "gene pool" so to
speak. Lets keep up the goo
