I had good lock with Xterra on a quarter sized sarcoid on our TB's ear.
We applied it as directed, but there was no immediate result. About
four months later, pieces of the sarcoid started falling off. It is now
completely gone and the

Another thought that I should have shared. Kjerstin had decided that she
would not get on the trailer while at the Parelli center. I worked with her

I have not had a fjord develop melanomas but my grey Hanovarian gelding has a
number of them. I was advised the same as you that you leave them alone unless
they get so large that they interfere with some function or if they were to

Thank you Lisa!
No sign of any sarcoids on Fjern! What an interesting learning experience her
treatment must have been. I have heard that sarcoids are more common in
younger horses that is why I was surprised to see one show up on my 11 year

I had one filly that had two or three sarcoid tumors over a six month period
and the vets surgically removed them. One was even near her eye and we had to
take her to the vet hospital to have an opthamologist remove it. They did not
return and she

Hi again--
Just a folow up on my earlier post about black blood root salve. The Xxtterra
did cause an open crusting wound after only a couple of days which sloughed
off, leaving fresh pink skin...but after a couple of weeks, the gray roucg

Vicki, what a great and interesting story!
A friend of mine just sent two of
her horses off for training. One is a LBI/LBE (yearling) and the other is a
RBI/RBE (the mother mare). The filly took 20 minutes to load (and that was

Not very original, but when my mare was six months I started encouraging her
into the trailer by placing a half an apple just far enough in the trailer
that she had to reach for it. This went on for several months of moving the
apple forward.

The inflammation, according to the vetrinary blood root expert in
colorado, is a good thing. It means the horse's immune system has
mounted a response, and will be healing that area. So it sounds like
perhaps Xterra doesn't have enough blood root

Michele,
We are so very sorry that you have lost Soren. He was really a very sweet
horse. It is so hard to lose any of them much less one you care so very
much for. We wish you well with his little brother.
