Yes, seen them, read them and it is still not decoding. :-(
Since then I have altered the sound card settings along the lines of
those used by another SDR user, so I'll go back again and see if there's
anything that I can reset that will solve the problems.

No problem, Allen. We all forget things sometime. Like me when I copied

The D44 digital wiring setup should be:

In this case several people already have "spelled it out". All you have
to do is go to the KB and search on your topic.
If you had and did a quick search on the key word "digital" it returns:
D44 wiring setup:

VAC setups
This sounds like one of those times that if a person had time to spell it
all out and add some graphics or pictures it would be a great addition to
the knowledge base. Then folks in a similar position would have a very
useful article.
Thanks for the good answer

Hi,
I have a question concerning external audio from a keyer and the
FireBox. Can I connect this audio to input #2 of my FireBox and
listen to it when I key the SDR-1000 for CW with the keyer? Input #1
is in use for the mike, input #2 is unused and it has its own gain
control. I don't want
David,
I don't use VAC, but use a separate sound card. The audio
outputs (outputs 1 and 2 on the D44 junction box) are split with 1/4"
plugs to RCA jacks. On each output left and right go to my second
sound card and amplified speakers. This line out is regulated with

David,
I operate PSK31 with MixW. Sound card is a FireBox, and everything
runs great. I have an MP3+ sound card, and I used it with the
SDR-1000 and MixW before I got the FireBox. I didn't have good
results with the MKP3+ and the SDR-1000. It worked, but left
something to be desired.
73,
I'll second that. I wasn't aware that the defaults were set to 100. I'll
address this.

Well thanks for the replies guy's I should have thought about it a bit
before reporting. I sure don't like the default of 100Watts for the
saved audio modes but have now changed mine and saved them accordingly.

Hi Duffy
I failed in the same trap. Read operating manual page 94 and you will
understand. This is an excerpt :

various TX settings with ease. The TX profile includes: EQ, Filter,

Hi Dave,
I have had excellent results with various PSK programs and SDR-1000 using VAC,
I use nothing but my SDR-1000 for digital modes, it is a different world than
the old fashion 756PROII. (har)(just had to get that hit in) I think the SDR

I use MixW without any problems.
What is the registered version of VAC you are using?

I'm having problems resolving PSK31 on my SDR1000, the signals are there
and I can see the trace in my usual program, PSK31 Deluxe, but the
output in each stream is just garbled. This happens whether I connect
PSK31Deluxe ia a VAC connection or through an MP3+ sound card.

I suggest that the code be left in the svn database but disabled with an
#ifdef. Flex is not sending it out enabled as a scanner but you enable
those with compilers to enable it.
This will put a real damper on cognitively defined radio work since one
way to look at it is a scanner with the abi

Hello all,
Let me see if I can insert a few facts to dispel some of the speculation.
Here goes:
1) Amateur radio transceivers fall under FCC Part 97 rules for the Amateur
Radio Service in the USA, UNLESS they provide a scanning receiver function.
The scanning function throws a radio into Part 15
Tim,
Sounds like a great idea on getting these posted on the knowledgebase
so all new and old flexers can benifit.
I use a Audio-Technica AT2020 that I bought new on ebay for $80. I get
excellent reports using this mic and a Behringer UB1002.

I would like to see PowerSDR modified so that you can
use a USB mic via VAC. Presently VAC comes in after
all the limiters and audio pre-emphesis. This is a
good thing for digital but it makes a USB Mic
unusable.
Presently I use the MXL DRK mic with the Firebox.

I've actually found an easy way to implement scanning.
Download and install Ham Radio Deluxe (which is free) then set up vCOM,
connect PowerSDR to one of a pair of virtual COM ports and HRD to
another. Run HRD, connect it to PowerSDR as you would any other radio
and use its scanning facility.
Regarding power meters, I came across the N8LP LP-100 which I bought so that
I know when I am *really* running 5W from my IC-703. This LP-100 is some
unit, comes as a kit or assembled, has a computer interface as well, so in
theory I could tell the software to run 5W and it can adjust the volume
