I know that digi modes are popular but I've been calling CQ on Olivia
16/500 on 7.037 for hours without any response. Is there a meeting
frequency or a page to arrange a sked?

Mike,
I get a similar error with 2m transverter configuration when I try to either
sync VFO's, or copy VFO A to VFO B when that band is selected.
This does not seem to happen when any other band is configured as a
transverter (i.e 432, 1296, 2300 etc) - only 144 MHz.
When I set up a 144 MHz
I have been a ham for more than 30 years and have had many radios, but
recently I had to have my Flex repaired due to an operator temporary (I hope
it was temporary) loss of comon sense. The Flex is not the only radio in my
shack so I believed it would be no problem to use one of the other rigs

use to using a mouse and a few key's the Flex is really easy to use.
Most guys talk about not like a SDR because they miss knobs, but I must

Hi Ron,
Can you share how your Flex radio was damaged? I also experience
occasional mental glitches, and anything I can learn to help prevent
damage to the radio might be helpful.
I share your enthusiasm about the Flex radios PSDR. I recently

Good question Gary. VOX also helps you with a stuck key in the operation.
It would be nice if the SDR had a stuck key timeout option that would
disconnect after x minutes in a stuck key situation. I did have this happen
one time when I was tuning the outboard AT-Auto autotuner to go to a new

Jim,
I think it is by design the you can not turn the pre-amp on of the
higher bands.. The preamp, in addition to providing gain also provides
isolation that prevents internal signals (conducted radiation) from

Hi Tim,
Thanks for the advice. I'll check to make sure it's set up that way. I
use XP SP3, and I've gone through the VAC setup carefully to avoid
those problems. But I've found that sometimes things in Windows change
back unexpectedly. When I loaded 2.0.19 a few weeks ago I set up

Hi Louie,
Both CPDR and DX are settings of a Compander, which means
compressor/expander. It compresses or expands as needed to increase
average power and works somewhat like an RF clipper. It can add close
to an S unit of average power. The human voice has an average power
of only about 15% of
The windows audio implementation battles would of course go away if PSDR
supported digital modes natively rather than through virtual audio cables.
Actually, they would not, as the radio itself (F5K F3K) uses the Windows
Audio subsystem via ASIO drivers.
