There's a common thread here. Yes some are able to run SDR OS with Vista
but many if not most are encountering problems. Rarely is any difficulties
encountered with WINXP, SP3. Ergo the obvious answer is, don't use Vista.
My personal experience is that Vista is a piece of crap and not worth the
I must be one of those oddballs (No Comment Stu) that installed the new
firmware and OS files. I've had absolutely no problems. It's all working
great. I must be missing something!!

I'm wondering.I have VAC set up and it's working great! Both VAC 1 and 2
are set for (I'm doing this from another computer so I'm not sure of the
exact numbers), 11025 - 92000. My question; has anyone experimented with
expanding these numbers? i.e. 11025 - 192000 If this is doable, would

Maybe it's only the earlier F5K's that are having problems. In any case, I
echo Ken's comments. I continually get rave reviews on the quality of the
F5K's audio. I don't doubt for a moment that Jeff, K6JCA and others are
experiencing audio quality problems. Obviously, I can only speak from the

I'm (attempting) to facilitate operation of v1.12.0 using a GNU/Debian OS

Harry,
I use the Bose Companion III which has the subwoofer. Like Harry says, it
is really dependent upon how you have your receive filter set. There have

which, in my estimation, doesn't enhance receive capability. I
Another thing I'm noticing in V1.12.0 is when I see a detected signal in the
pan adapter, I'm also seeing a mirror image of the same signal either up or
down frequency by about 10KHz. When tuning to these signals they sometimes
merge but not always. Sometimes they can be detected at different

After an easy install RX2 is recognized and I then started the cal process.
Initially the "Level" test passed. However, when I ran the "Image" that
failed.
So where do I go from here?

Dudley,
I'm noticing that I am unable to engage cat control (PTT) (RE: FDMDV digital
voice program) with the official Flex release. With svn 2224, all worked
great. I've double check my settings and feel that everything is set
correctly. No problems with VAC only CAT. As a matter of fact, I to
MS will soon release its (so called) final release which is labeled SP3.
This has already been released to government and some commercial agencies.
As you are probably aware there are so many problems within Vista that
government agencies will not incorporate it into any networked facilities.
