Looking for a REALLY good buy on a late (last 6 months) production SDR-1000,

Questions for the FAQ list:
Will the FLEX-5000 be capable of being upgraded to a C or D model?
Will a user be able to upgrade the 5000 hardware himself or will it require
a return to the factory?

Bob,
If you push the wheel in, it will change the tuning increment.
Probably, in your enthusiasm to turn it fast
I just installed a new M.S. Optical mouse and Intellipoint software that
came with it on the PC I normally use with my SDR1K. If I rotate the mouse
wheel too fast I loose the incremental change (1 KHz/click) I set it for and
the Tune Step jumps to 5 KHz or 9 Khz. Has anyone run into this before w

Two things happening when I try to drive my Ameritron AL-1200 linear amp on
17m with the SDR1K.
The Fwd SWR reads 2.7 on TUNE and after a few seconds on tune I get HIGH SWR
showing 3.2 and the SDR1K's power drops about 50%. This happens only on the
17m band with the SDR1K driving the amplifier.
Can the Ameritron AL-1200 be safely keyed directly from the X2 connector on
the SDR-1000 or is a keying buffer device required?
