I just installed Ver 2.1.5 for my 5000A and the installation went smoothly.
However, something seems wrong with CW break-in. Whether I am using iambic mode
with a paddle, or if I turn off iambic and use a straight key or bug, the first
element I send is elongated.
If I turn break-in off and

I am the original owner. The radio was purchased November 2006 and was
set aside when I purchased a Flex5000A in September 2008 and has not
been used since. It has always been in a smoke-free environment.
The package includes:

Hello,
I recently purchased a Heil PR 781 microphone and cable for use with my 5000A.
I have never tried phone operation before (on any radio) and decided to test
the setup first by transmitting at low power (approx. 10 watts) into a dummy
load. I am using PowerSDR v2.0.20 RC2. The radio works
Last night I downloaded DDUtil and set it up to run the N1MM logger. I
am still using vCom rather than com0com at this point, and I have not
yet brought CW skimmer into the picture.
I've had partial success. Both DDUtil and N1MM logger respond to
frequency changes when I scroll around the
Apologies, I'm not explaining this very well -- this is my first
experience with both DDUtil and the N1MM logging software.
What I called the macro buttons in the N1MM logger are the buttons
on the logger Entry Window with labels such as CQ, Exch, My Call
and so forth.

Hello,
I am interested in running CW skimmer and the N1MM logging program
alongside PowerSDR (1.18.2). I am able to run CW skimmer by itself
with PowerSDR, and the logger by itself with PowerSDR. In both cases,
the applications behave as expected with vCom providing the linkage.
However,
Hello,
I have been playing with the zero beat on my Flex 5000a. If I use it
repeatedly on the same CW signal, my ear tells me that it is finding a
different solution each time. I can also see the display shifting on each
attempt. I understand why a zero beat button is a nice feature, and maybe

kicks in even though drive is set to zero.
Is this the expected behavior?

Hello,
The keying problem kept me off the air for about a month after I received
my 5000A. I posted on the problem recently (ca. 2/10) to see if anyone
might have a fix for direct keying via the key jack.
I took the advice of several Flexers and installed a serial card on my
computer. As of
Hello,
I am having problems setting up for CW on my 5000A. If anyone recognizes
the symptoms below and has overcome them, please let me know! My system
details are at the bottom of this message.
Thanks very much,

?
-- If you have an external keyer, try hooking your paddles to the
external keyer, and then use the external keyer to key the FLEX-5000
(making sure that you uncheck 'Iambic' on PowerSDR). Do you still see
the behavior that you described?

Hello,
I received my 5000A on January 7 but have not yet successfully set it up.
I am hoping someone here has encountered a similar problem and worked it
through. I've contacted Flex support but a solution is not yet identified.
My computer is a Dell Dimension DM061, Pentium D, 2.8 GHz with 1 GB
Hello,
I am having a problem using cw breakin with my SDR-1000. I am uncertain
whether I have set something up incorrectly or I've stumbled on a software
issue. The details are as follows.
Using 1.10.2, breakin works very nicely for either of these
configurations: a paddle connected directly to
Hi,
I've been trying to set up my SDR-1000 for PSK31 operation using MixW 2.18
and sometimes DigiPan. I am at v1.10.1 of PowerSDR. I had my first QSO
last night (MixW) and received a good report on my signal.
However, I've noticed the following: when I transmit an idle signal into
a dummy load
I'd like to thank everyone who has responded so far to my original message.
I did a more thorough search through the archives and found additional
postings that seem to describe the same, or a similar behavior with VAC
and MixW (for example, search on pulsing).
Jim (W4ATK) suggested I try
Following Tim's suggestions, I modified the VAC sample rate to 48 KHz and
the MixW sample to 12 KHz. I also used the VAC settings shown in the
revised KB article on how to setup the VAC software. Audio and VAC buffers
(in the PowerSDR setup) are now both set to 1024. I haven't yet upgraded

Recently several postings have mentioned the database associated with
PowerSDR and also noted that it sometimes needs to be wiped clean. I am
hoping someone can answer a few questions about this for me. I looked
through the Knowledge Base and also the manual and didn't have much
luck--apologies to
Hello,
I would like to practice my cw sending at higher speeds using the
SDR-1000's internal keyer and also try out the built-in cw keyboard
feature without actually going on the air (my typing skills are
rudimentary at best). As far as I can tell so far, the only way to do
either of these is to
Hello,
This is my first posting to the list. Im hoping that someone might have
an insight into the problem Ive encountered with my new SDR-1000. I
suspect the basic issue is RFI but it seems like an extreme case--maybe
something else is going on?. Any advice will be welcome.
