I've generally had good luck using Apple products with my Flex 3000 and Flex
5000. However, not all macs will make good Flex computers. You can run into
the same bad-driver DPV issues you do with some PCs. Two macs that I've had
trouble with were:
- iMac 27 (Late 2009) running Windows 7;

I have a Flex-5000, Flex-3000 and KPA500/KAT500 and recently added a KX3.
I have to agree with Matthew (KJ4TN) that both the F3K and KX3 are fine
radios and in real world situations its hard to see any receive difference
despite the KX3's better lab performance.
As for software I run
Craig, I've had mixed luck with Macs
* 13 Black MacBook, early 2008 (Win7-32bit) works great! It's currently
the backup PC for my Flex-3000;
* 21 iMac, mid 2011 (Win732bit) - also works great! I use this with my
Flex-3000. Never had issues;
* 27 iMac, late 2009 (Win7-32bit) - suffered
with Latency Mon
are in NDIS and the Nvidia network controller. I tried bumping the nVidia
NIC driver back a version but it didn't seem to make any difference.
Any advice appreciated! Especially from those who are successfully running
PSDR on an iMac.

There aren't many with Firewire interfaces anymore. It looks like the Sony
Vaio might be the best bet. However they use nVidia graphics processors and

I use a black 13 MacBook (early 2008) with my Flex-3000. It works great!
Much better than the Thinkpad T60p it replaced. The T60p always ran hot and
I had to use a laptop cooler.
I agree with Brian. If you can, try to pick a MacBook with a Radeon video
controller and not nVidia.

with no one at the controls! Luckily it was SSB and with no modulation the

I've managed to break the pre-amp function on my Flex-3000. When I select
the pre-amp now on any band it behaves like an attenuator. All other
