All,
Just a head's up - on TOT 1.3 I am not able to get Fl_Sys_Menu_bar to work with
Fl_Overlay_Window. I'll be filing a bug later today when I get a chance...

Nice new features, thanks for updating fldiff.
Found two small issues though:

Is there a way to utilize the FLTK functionality with Fl_JPEG_Image?

I'm having trouble understanding what it is that you are asking.
handle() and callback() are very different beasts indeed. The handle()
methods are used by the underlying fltk/OS system to propagate and
handle window events (for the most part)
I appreciate the time and help of yours but still confused. I'm fairly good in
C++ but eager to know in deep the working of fltk.

Weighing in late, but thought I'd add:
handle() is the method through which all events are sent to the
widget.
callback() is triggered at the whim of the logic of the widget.

My problem isn't so much FPS but whether calling redraw is
enough to refresh the screen. I can live with a much lower FPS otherwise.
I *think* it should be sufficient; calling refresh() just sets
