Hi All,
Sorry to be so flakey on details (As I'm now kicking myself for leaving out

I've had a FreeRADIUS 0.6 server running under FreeBSD 4.6R since the day
0.6 was relased.
All of a sudden this morning, the server keeps quitting after a very short

I think there is a minor error in the radclient(1) man page in the

I'm having trouble with authenticating users on our Annex 8000. The
RADIUS server rejects it with the invalid Message-Authenticator error.
I have read the docs that state that it is a bug in BayNetworks code and

Hello,
Is there any way sort of finite control in doing hostname lookups for freeradius?
In cistron, it didn't do hostname lookups and went off the of the clients file.
This resulted in logs like this:

I've been running FreeRADIUS 0.6 with MySQL on FreeBSD 4.6-STABLE from CVS
dated Jun 18 15:24:01 for almost exactly a week now with no such
problems. I'd strongly advise you to cvsup your -RELEASE to -STABLE and
see if that solves the problem.

Do you have to configure the Radius server before you run the deamon?
Nah; you can run the daemon any old time. Don't bother configuring it or
reading the config or documentation files. They're there just to pad the
download. You don't even have to bother compiling or untaring it to disk;
Please read the comments is radiusd.conf:
