Yup, those are static libs, if you check with something like strace,
you'll find that radiusd is trying to load rlm_unix.so from the libs
directory.

that ascend didn't follow some RFC recommendation. i also read that by
enabling VSA in the device MAX 6000 it would fix it but no luck so far.

I was wondering if I could borrow your brain for a moment. I posted to
freeradius-users this morning, but have not received a response and I would
really love to get my configuration approved by WorldCom today. It appears
just as CHAP will not read anything but cleartext password from ldap, PAP
to support both PAP and CHAP and know of no other way to do this.
